All I can do is laugh. Laugh at the terrible spot that they have been placed, laugh at the terrible support acts, and laugh at the terrible alternatives to seeing Faith No More. A true indication that Reading Festival has completely gone to shit.

Indeed

Reading has FNM, Deftones and possibly a few other acts this year. Even with a stellar lineup, Reading doesn't compare to Download in terms of general feel

They have FNM and Deftones, but aren't using them to their fullest potential. FNM and Deftones are 2 bands that could be playing Main Stage headline spot on Friday and Saturday, have Radiohead on Sunday. Perfect. But no, they didn't do that. Dicks.

Very true...

... although after seeing FNM headline Download, personally I feel a more intimate setting will be cool although I realise not everyone is in the same boat. Will hopefully keep in the real fans and not cunts

As far as Deftones, I can't see how they are not higher up the bill

This might be looking like a bad lineup for you guys but for people like me who wouldn't touch festivals like download with a 100 foot pole this is an excellent lineup. Artics and KOL are amazing bands and vampire weekend seal the deal. I'm glad that bands like FNM are playing though so people who don't like the above bands have an alternative but for me it's good new that FNM and Deftones aren't headlining as their fanbase just isn't big enough.

Really? Do you base that on the millions of albums that FNM have sold? Or the sell out tours that Deftones do?

... or the fact that FNM were a catalyst for Download Festival being able to sell out for the 2nd time in its history ... or the fact that Deftones are one of the most in demand acts on the lice circuit as we speak?

Darkness headlined one year... not as if their fanbase was any bigegr than who played directly before them; Offspring.

I base that idea on the fact that the arctic have had two UK number one albums one which went quadrouple platinium and every single they've realesed charted in the top 5 a little better than FNM. And kings of leon just sold out the O2 three nights in a row in under an hour and so what deftones have sell out tours so do loads of bands including the two I mentioned The Cribs sell out tours that doesn't mean they have as huge a fan base as the arctic or KOL

Faith No More in a tent will be fucking sweet though. Possibly good enough to miss KOL, I'm yet to make my mind up.

Gordo/RG you are deluding yourself if you think that FNM or Deftones would get a bigger crowd at reading festival than Arctic Monkeys or KoL. Reading is a rock festival, not an alternative festival, it just caters toward that market. Thats why KoL are mainstage and FNM are 2nd stage.
ok guys, i know that these are hard, and they're long and a pain in the butt, but you still have to do them

that's what she said

I never thought that for one second... I know the fact KoL and AM will pull in the crowds, but I was replying to the fact the dude thought FNM and Deftones have a small fanbase or at least they're not big enough to headline.

I beg to differ also, I woudn't compliment Reading to the point of calling it a rock festival.
